‘Start Small Dream Big’ comes back to MOE Kindergarten @ Punggol Green!
The Kindergarten One children started the project by inviting FoodBankSG to MOE Kindergarten @ Punggol Green. The FoodBankSG representatives, Ms Rachel and Ms Audrey, shared with the children about the increase in food waste in Singapore. They shared with the children that the excess food that many people often overlook can go on to help the needy families in Singapore. They also shared the types of non-perishable food items that FoodBankSG collects to help the needy families.
After the sharing, each class discussed and came up with one food item that they would like to collect. Together, they would invite family members to collect and donate non-perishable food items such as Ribena, Milo, canned food, canned sardines, dried noodles, rice, cereal and packet biscuits. The children promised to share their new-found knowledge with their family members and to work towards reducing food waste in school and at home.
