Earth Day is a global annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. Our centre strongly believes in saving our Earth for the future and celebrated this day with the support from our parents. Here’s what we did!
A week before Earth Day, each child brought home an Earth Day kit which was prepared by our teachers. Inside each kit was a recyclable plastic bag and newspapers. Children and parents were invited to create an upcycled costume using any recyclable materials.
The children brought their upcycled costume to school for our ‘Recycled Fashion’ show. Each class was brought outdoors where the children modeled in their costumes on “runway”. Everyone was amazed to see the creative costumes and poses!
The children had a great time showcasing their outfits! They even got to share how they created them with their parents at home. What a great way of recycling!
