Finally, we have come towards the end of our SSDB project. The children made use of the last few pages of their SSDB book to illustrate what they can do with the recyclable materials. The children shared that they can turn plastic bags into parachutes, plastic bottles into pencil holders and planting pots, and they can also transform carton boxes into a house and car for their dramatic play. We also involved parents in our recycling project by asking the parents to create recycling posters with their children. We hung the posters outside our school to educate the public the importance of recycling and the children were so proud to convey the message of recycling to their family members and their relatives. This SSDB project has instilled the concept of recycling to the children and they have become more thoughtful when they are using papers in class or when they are going out shopping with their parents, they would remind their parents to bring along a recycling bag and use less plastic bags.
