The children were geared up with all smiles as they emabark on a special mission which is to spread love and joy to a group of elderly through a cookery. The salient objective of the said activity is to nurture children’s social and emotional well-being and inculcate positive dispositions like love, care and respect towards other people especially our dear elderly. The K2’s donned their chef hats and prepared lovely cards to express an affectionate gesture.
The most awaited day has come, the children arrived at COMNET Senior Services Centre to conduct a cookery activity. They were tasked to help the elderly in making a healthy sandwich using egg, butter, and lettuce. The children worked so hard in delivering the needs of the elderly and tried their best to serve them in a timely and efficient manner. It was indeed a fun-filled experience for both children and elderly.
The elderly enjoyed eating the sandwich they made along with the kids. The latter gave out packet drinks and made sure that everyone has their share of sandwich.
The children surprised the elderly with a rejuvenating dance performance. The elderly couldn’t contain their excitement, they cheered the kids until the end of the performance. Then, the children gave out their cards which serves as souvenir for the old folks accompanied by little hugs.
The moment spent in the elderly care was perhaps one of the most precious memories that the children have acquired. One thing is certain, they will bring back the memories of bliss and love into their families and friends and remember it for the rest of their lives.
