The battle against COVID-19 has been going on for a long time and our front liners are continually working to keep us safe. In this project, we gave appreciation to our community cleaners from Pasir Ris Punggol Town Council who have been doing their best to keep the community clean.
K1 and K2 children expressed their gratitude by creating ‘Thank You’ cards and keychains for them. We have also worked in partnership with their parents who have also given their support in the project by sending in materials and resources that the community cleaners can use in their daily lives. The centre also gave couches and tables that they can use in their homes as well as face masks and hand sanitizers which are necessary in their daily work.
As the concluding event of our SSDB project, K1 and K2 children, together with our principal, gave their presents of appreciation to the representative of the community cleaners. Children expressed their gratitude to the community cleaners by giving their messages to, as what they referred as, their community heroes.
This project has developed so much sense of appreciation in children. During the post-discussion, they have expressed that our community cleaners in the frontline are as important as our front liners in the healthcare sector. They would surely spread the gratitude that they have learnt through this project in the community.
This concludes our SSDB 2020 project and on behalf of the children of PCF Sparkletots @ Punggol North Blk 172B, we would like to express our utmost gratefulness to our Pasir Ris Punggol Town Council Community Cleaners and to all the community cleaners in Singapore. Stay safe and stay healthy!
