Our caring EcoStars learnt how composting can help to reduce the amount of organic waste that would otherwise need to be disposed of into landfills, which would produce harmful greenhouse gas emissions. The children identified that composting helped to fight climate change through reducing waste and showing care to the environment. Children hands-on to their own compost. They observed and explored with various materials for composting such as soil, fruit and vegetable scrap, and dried leaves. They followed the step-by-step procedures and were engaged in making their own compost. They will continue to observe the compost over the next 4 weeks before using the compost as fertiliser for the plants. Great work our caring EcoStars!
