The various learning experiences on how they can show care and concern for the environment provided the children a deeper understanding on how they can take part in this initiative. One of the many ways they thought of was gardening.
To start the planting experience, parents were encouraged to bring upcycled plastic bottles that will be used as the plant pots. Children were given options to plant seeds such as basil, parsley, and mint.
As the days passed, the children continued to observe and care for their plants. When they learnt that not all seeds grow at the same time, they exhibited increased enthusiasm in caring for their plants to see it thrive and grow. The planting experience allowed the children to show care and concern for the environment, and learn to extend their patience at the same time.
