Our K2 children first learnt that most of our food sources are being imported. They were then introduced to the “30 by 30” initiative - Singapore aims to build up our agri-food industry’s capability and capacity to produce 30% of our nutritional needs locally and sustainably by 2030.
The children gained a good understanding that by supporting local produce, we get fresher and higher quality food. Next, they examined and tried identifying the foods that are home-grown or produced locally by scanning through their packaging. It will be their turn now, to share this information with their families and start supporting local produces.
