Coinciding with our overarching Term 2 topic of environmental conservation are the Earth Day, giving us the perfect opportunity to align theory with real life environmental conservation efforts.
To reinforce the objectives, an additional activity will be implemented before Earth Day. Nursey, K1, and K2 children would help create 3 recycle bins for children to deposit recyclable items which they brought from home. After which, children would be engaged in art and craft made with these recycled materials.
On 22 April 2021, Teacher Bee gave a presentation to Nursery, K1 and K2 children on what Earth Day are all about and why they are such relevant and vital movements for our environmental situation. She also touched on the endangered and threatened species, which included the reasons of taking care of these species, threats to these species, as well as actions to protect them. The children are fully involved in the presentation, as they are guided through relevant thought processes with questions and clarifications, voicing concerns and giving answers to questions.
