The children excitedly donned on their SSDB hats to celebrate the launching of SSDB project which signifies the importance of ‘Building a Caring Community’. Shaping children’s character at a young age plays a vital role in developing their social and emotional well-being. The project embarks on lessons to teach children to love themselves and value others. Each one of them has a bucket displayed in the corner of the classroom imbibing with them a special task to spread kindness towards everyone around them. If someone catches them exhibiting a kindness behaviour, their bucket will be filled with a pompom ball as a way of acknowledging their gesture. This bucket filling activity was based on the book ‘Have You Filled a Bucket Today?’ which encourages children to be kind to others and remember that kindness begins within ourselves. We then generate kindness towards our family, friends and people in the community.
