Children forming the word “Kind” with their bodies.
Every year we celebrate Kindness Day to remind and encourage everyone to be kind so that collectively we could transform Singapore into a nation of kindness. But what does it mean to be kind? Let’s hear some of the children’s idea of kindness in the videos below:
These and many other ideas were shared in class as children tried to form a definition of kindness. On the other hand, they also learned that kindness is a personal choice as emphasized in the song “Kindness It’s up to Us”. They had fun dancing to the music and singing along with their peers!
The children were also engaged in various art activities. Here are the Fun Learners (N1) and Tiny Tots (PG) coloring their Kindness Token. They also added their thumbprint and wrote their names on the opposite side of the illustration to add some personal touch.
This event wouldn’t be complete without the children bringing home their crafts for the day which will serve as their visual reminders to choose kindness.
