The children had been practising the two songs titled ‘Going Green’ and ‘Rang Zan Mei Fei Yang’ which they had learnt in school as part of our effort in saving the world. We would like our children to value resources around them and spread the message of recycling to the patients in the Bedok Dialysis Centre. The parents also volunteered in this meaningful event.
Upon arriving at the centre, the children were firstly given magic pens and different coloured cards to decorate and make for the nurses at the centre. The children were very creative and excited as the cards were meant to present to the nurses as a tribute to Nurses Day.
After the making of the Thank You cards, the Kinder One children from both sessions presented the patients with their songs and pandan cake baked by our school teacher, Mrs Ho on 18 and 25 July 2017 as an act of kindness. The patients were dancing with joy at their seats together with the children.
The children learnt to show kindness and compassion to the patients. They also realise that they have to take care of their health by eating right and keeping fit!
