The K1 children were enthusiastic to grow vegetables (Bayam) hydroponically. They asked many questions about how they keep the vegetables alive without soil, how big their vegetables can grow to get more food, how to get the water to move in every direction when using the hydroponic system. They were excited at every step: from seedling, to plant growth, to harvesting.
Armed with nimble hands and a heart of love, the K1 children carefully placed the delicate ‘Bayam’ seedlings, in neat rows on the panel foam boards.
Working cooperatively, the K1 children transported the ‘Bayam’ seedlings to the greenhouse next to the school’s garden (ZBK Educational Community Garden).
The K1 children certainly looked forward to watching the seedlings grow and charting the growth of ‘Bayam’ in the next few weeks, right in their own backyard.
