The N2 to K2 classes of E-Bridge Preschool Fernvale 417A launched the SSDB project entitled “Friends in Bloom” through a Down syndrome (DS) Awareness Week.
On 15th of June, the children kicked off the launch party by engaging in an interactive presentation about what Down syndrome is. They also created banners that were placed outside the school in an effort to raise awareness about the love, challenges and joy that Down syndrome brings to families.
In addition, the children and all staff were encouraged to come to school wearing mismatched socks throughout the week to show how capable children with DS are despite being slightly different.
“Even though our socks are mismatched, they can still protect our feet!”
