Respect, Care and Kindness are some of the most important values that adults can instill to the children. It will ensure they develop positive relationships with their families, friends and teachers throughout their life. As part of our school’s answer to President’s Challenge, the N2 children visited Ren Ci Nursing Home @ AMK last 18th June to spend some time with the Ah Ma, Nai Nai, Ye Ye and Ah Gong residing in the Nursing Home.
Upon the arrival of the children and the parents, the coordinator, Ms.Liza gave a briefing of how the activity will go through. Each parent and child were given a ‘Senior Partner’ for the day’s activity. They fetched their Senior Partners in each household and bring them to the Multipurpose Hall where the activity will be held. The children prepared a short dance performance to start the programme and elders really enjoyed the Chinese Dance Performance by N2 children. It was then followed by the ‘Plant a Seed, Paint a Pot’ activity. The children together with their parents brought some pots and planted seeds together with their elder partners. They happily painted the flower pots to make it more personal too. The elders were thrilled to paint their flower pots while exchanging some stories with the children and their parents. The class also donated some art materials that the elders can use during their free time during the weekends. It was really a one of a kind experience for the N2 children.
